Total expenditure on health in Iran is currently about 7% of the GDP but there are still many problems in the health care system. The life-expectancy has improved to 74 years while the country is facing an ageing tsunami and burden of non-communicable diseases.
Our goals
We aim to determine the prevalence and incidence of cardiovascular disease, trauma and psychological disorders and their risk factors in Tehran.
Implications
Our results can be an invaluable source of data for the politicians, legislators and healthcare planners to promote the health status in Tehran, as well as the whole country.
What we aim for?
Tehran Cohort Study is being carried out on three major health problems in Iran, cardiovascular disease, Trauma and injuries, and mental disorders.
